It was freezing and cold, but Gavin, Mommy (Kris) and Daddy (Dave) all walked in the 2008 Greater Austin Walk Now for Autism Event. This was our first year, and we were testing the waters so we didn’t meet our fundraising goal, but we had a great time. It was nice being around other people that actually understood what it was like to have an autistic child. Gavin had a tough time transitioning from some of the play areas inside to other play areas and eventually the walk. He threw a tantrum and no one looked once, let alone twice to see what was going on. Thats just part of life with an autistic child.
